You may know the basics of recycling organics, but do you wonder what happens once it’s hauled away? How do food scraps, napkins and pizza boxes become the “black gold” that is compost soil?
To celebrate International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW), join us for a guest presentation by John Springman and Alex Fredberg of Ramsey County as they discuss the organics recycling process and its benefits. St. Anthony’s organics drop-off is possible through a partnership with Ramsey County, so bring all your burning questions and get answers straight from the pros! If you haven’t already, pick up your free organics starter kit at this event while supplies last!
Following the presentation, head out to the City Hall parking lot and scoop some compost to bring home! Please bring your own containers/buckets if you can. Compost giveaway will begin at approximately 6:30 pm and available while supplies last! As a special thank you for attending, receive a free St. Anthony Village veggie peeler to further encourage your organics recycling efforts!
