St. Anthony City Council lowers speed limits to increase pedestrian safety
On June 23, 2020 the St. Anthony City Council adopted a plan to implement lower speed limits to city-owned roads to increase pedestrian safety and support our mission to be a progressive and welcoming Village, that is walkable, sustainable and safe.
Minnesota Statutes, Section 169.14 gives cities the authority to adopt reduced speed limits of 25 mph on residential roads owned by the city.
Implementation and Installation of new signs
City staff will install new speed limit signs beginning June 24, 2020 and will continue until all the old signs have been replaced with the new 25 mph signs. The new lower speed limit is in effect as of June 24, 2020.
You will notice two different signs:
Gateway sign- located at the entry points to the city

City road sign-located on the residential roadway
